I hadn't really looked at anything about Crucible but it looks a lot like Battleborn (RIP), minus the RPG elements and Gearbox aesthetic. Hopefully it fares much better than Battleborn did, but I don't think a highly anticipated MOBA is coming out the same week as Crucible so... it'll be fine.

explosivo posted:That Crucible game published by Amazon went live a bit ago. I played a round of their Battle Royale thing and it feels pretty janky but not terrible I guess? I need to spend some more time with it. It really feels like they just took five popular games and made them into one game though, there's so many clear "influences" from similar titles in there. I've been playing Battleborn again with some friends and what I like about that game is the persistent leveling and gear customization that you get to play with between matches or story events. Does Crucible have anything like that or is it strictly just a one-round deal?

I learned last week that the reason why so many side missions were put into the original AssCreed is because the CEO's kid thought it was boring, so they added them days before they started producing the retail version.

Speaking of Discord, is there anything for people who are looking to play with others casually? I don't have a lot of time to play or learn games, but really like hanging out and talk games.

Wait, where did the hit game "I can't breathe" go? It was like 2 games down from "Three Lesbians in a Barrow". Serious question though, are any of these multiplayer games? Is there anywhere that has information like this rather than clicking through every single one?

If you guys haven't, check out Gunfire Reborn. It's only $12, too! Trigger warning: Early Access, Roguelike It's a mix of games like Borderlands, Dead Cells, Risk of Rain all wrapped up into a nice and tight FPS game with lots of engrish! Seriously though, it's a lot of fun and there's a lot of numbers make go up all over the place. 4 player coop too! cage-free egghead f*cked around with this message at 01:38 on Jun 8, 2020

ZearothK posted:Man, this looks absolutely like my poo poo. How much content is there so far? There's 4 "worlds" with levels in between. Each level takes a few minutes to do depending on how much time you're taking on looking for every collectible and/or weapon. Each world has a boss at the end. Steam says I've got 6 hours in and I've made it to the 2nd boss twice. It's difficult and unforgiving and much like other popular roguelikes if you get bad rolls with your stage rewards or weapons, it can make or break a run. There is stat progression outside of each run so any of the currency you've accumulated in a run gets put towards bettering your stats like shield %, ammo capacity, inscription chance on weapons (which I think are like Diablo's affixes), etc. I'm really enjoying it so far, like a lot more than I thought I would have. It's addicting and the gunplay is really well done for an indie studio. The levels aren't all that inspiring and there's only 2 classes right now but again, it's early access. The gameplay loop is pretty great and more people should play this.

ZearothK posted:Alright, that does seem pretty sweet, specially at that price. Might as well bite in. Have they published a development roadmap anywhere? Not sure. At $12 even if it goes the way that Cube World did years ago I still think it's worth it.

Hub Cat posted:Have they course corrected on Cube World at all? I'm just curious because a lot of goons seemed dissapointed after such a long period of radio silence. I did see within the last year or two that Wolly whatever their name is had updates to it, and it's on Steam. I got it back in like 2014 and just lost hope. Still had a lot of fun with that for $20. Apparently the Steam one isn't doing too hot and many people just recommend the alpha lol

Jerusalem posted:Yeah okay, I'm bouncing off Nioh pretty hard. I got to the Boss at the end of the fishing village and after a few times getting destroyed I figured my strategy was the wrong one because I was getting nowhere. I looked up how to fight him and apparently I'm using exactly the right strategy but the fight is just an exercise in frustration. It's just a matter of taking forever to chip away at his health bar combined with him easily killing me with two shots/only having four elixirs, so I've just been left in an endless series of repetitions of running to the Boss, fighting for 5-10 minutes doing very little damage, getting KOed by a single shot after running out of elixir, repeat. Yep, I got to the same spot and it really turned me off to the game. I'll probably have to just have someone coop with me to beat it. I wish I had the time to learn games like this though and get really good at them.

Itching for a loot action RPG and see that Grim Dawn is cheap but I've played many hours of Diablo 3 and quite a few of Path of Exile, what makes Grim Dawn stand out against those two?

explosivo posted:I'm forcing myself to go back and loving finish Outer Wilds, not that I don't like it but I keep buying new poo poo which pushes it further back and I absolutely love playing this game. It's cool how alien the things you find are, like the weird controls for things you have to just gently caress with until it does something because why would they have a flight stick to control a ship? It's a nice world building touch when they could've just as easily designed their equipment to look like nondescript future computers and scattered around data pads for the text you read. It is a cool feeling to kind of start to understand and piece together what is going on. Many "Aha!" moments playing that. I don't feel bad reading a wiki for some of the puzzles as there were a few I definitely wouldn't have gotten and I was especially fixated on those ships you could control with the alien panels, thinking that there were puzzles regarding those. It's an absolutely lovely game.

I don't mind it, honestly but the building part of it turned me off big time, especially with the learning curve that came with it. Not a fan of plinking a person with one shot and watching a 30ft tower suddenly appear. The gunplay and looting were fun but the rest was not. Especially the dances. |
