Lilac art exhibit opens, 5-7 p.m. opening reception, Encore Performing Arts Center, Cloquet. Exhibit runs through Aug. 18. Held in conjunction with Lilac Lovefest. For more info, go to lilaclovefest.com.

Saturday, June 15

Fly-In/Drive-In Pancake and Sausage Breakfast, 7:30-11 a.m., Moose Lake Airport. Hosted by the Moose Lake Kiwanis and Lake Air Flying Club. Plane rides available. Fly-in pilots in command eat free. Proceeds go to Moose Lake Kiwanis Club initiatives.

Sunday, June 16

Finnish Juhannus – Midsummer, 1-4 p.m., Sampo Beach on Little Grand Lake, 7095 Saginaw Road, Saginaw. Live Finnish music, sauna, swimming, traditional and contemporary Finnish activities and games such as mölkky (wooden pin toss game), vihta/vasta (a sauna whisk made out of birch branches) making, and tables of Finnish and Finnish American treasures. Coffee, pulla (Finnish cardamom bread) and sima will be available, as well as a grill trailer. Family-friendly, alcohol-free, open to public. Hosted by Finlandia Foundation Northland.
